  1. What are the health benefits of steam?

1.  What are the health benefits of steam? (Back to Top)

Steam baths have been used for thousands of years by cultures all over the world. For example, the Ancient Romans and Chinese created elaborate baths to indulge in the benefits of steam. Steam baths have also become part of North American Native cultures for cleaning the body, curing illness, rejuvenating tired muscles and by providing an overall sense of spiritual identity.

Over the past decade steam showers have become a very popular and inexpensive addition to bathroom renovations. They are easy to install and offer convenience from visiting the local spa for steam therapy. A steam shower looks like your regular shower and most include benches so you can sit back and relax. Our steam showers come pre-packaged and typically include a steam generator, steam outlet(s) and regular shower head(s).

In our steam showers you can enjoy a regular shower or a steam bath and some units even come equipped with a whirlpool spa for added enjoyment. The steam outlet operates on a timer and can include a small reservoir where essential oils, respiratory medications or perfume essences can be diffused. There are also a combination of adjustable shower heads, body sprays, hand sprays and steam outlets to keep everyone in the household comfortable to their personal preferences. Most units come equipped with stereo hook-ups, in shower speakers, steam free mirrors, and mood lighting.

Even with all of the benefits steam has to offer, steam is not for everyone. Those suffering from cardiovascular disease, have high blood pressure, are pregnant or have small children that would use the steam room, or have any other ailment that they are concerned about, we highly recommend speaking with your physician before using your steam room.
